PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK

Positions in the class are skilled technicians responsible for installation and troubleshooting of customer business and residential communications equipment and wiring. Works inside customers’ premises installing and maintaining equipment associated with video, internet, and phone. Tests for signal strength and connection activity associated with Fiber to the Home system. Keeps records and logs appropriate to services rendered.  Work schedule will be a 6-week rotation of two shifts and will involve on-call shifts as well.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS    

Vocational technical school in electronics or equivalent telecommunications specialties supplemented by work experience in wiring and installation of business and residential communications services, including types of cables and networking; extensive knowledge of troubleshooting associated with residential and business video (television), internet and phone.

TYPE OF EXAMINATION - Examination will be a multiple-choice test.
