PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK
Positions in this classification oversee and coordinate the work of several crews engaged in location, maintenance and repair of water pipelines, valves, fire hydrants, and related installations. Incumbent is subject to 24-hour call, works under the direction of a Superintendent, and oversees the work of Labor Foremen, W/WW Field Technicians, Equipment Operators, Utility Repairmen, and Troubleshooters.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution systems; experience in supervisory role involving crews working on water distribution system; possession of Class A CDL is desirable.
NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATION
- Must have high school diploma or GED to apply.
- Must be capable of responding to the site within one hour of being notified.
- Must possess a driver’s license to apply and must possess a valid Louisiana driver’s license prior to hire.
- Must possess a Class IV Water Distribution certification, as issued by the State of Louisiana, within three years of appointment to this position.
TYPE OF EXAMINATION - Examination will be a multiple-choice test.
