PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK

Positions in this class perform routine library functions. Work includes assisting patrons at the circulation desk, assisting patrons in registering for library cards, shelving books, assisting with delivery routes, and processing interlibrary loans. Positions will be required to work some nights and weekends. Current vacancy is full-time, but regular less-than-full-time positions also exist within the class.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduation or equivalent, and some experience working in a library or bookstore setting, or in public service; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

TYPE OF EXAMINATION

Examination will be a multiple-choice test.
