PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK

Positions in this class are responsible for staffing a reference information desk, assisting patrons of all ages with reference questions, general reader’s advisory service, and library related technology and electronic resources. Duties in this area of assignment include collaboratively creating and conducting adult programs, participating in library outreach activities, and facilitating use of Makerspace technologies and equipment. Incumbents will be required to work some nights and weekends.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in Library and Information Science; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.  In lieu of MLIS, applicants should have professional library experience, or some combination of professional experience with adult programming, provision of research and reference assistance, technology assistance, and/or outreach to the adult population.

TYPE OF EXAMINATION

Examination will be a rating of education and experience through a structured interview.
