PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK

Positions under the youth services section are responsible for planning children's story times, assisting youth and adults with reference questions, planning youth programs, recommending materials to children, teens, and parents, scheduling and conducting school tours, participating in outreach activities, and assisting children and teens with using computers and technology, including Makerspace technology. Incumbents will be required to work some nights and weekends. Current vacancy has a focus on youth ages birth to middle school. Future vacancies filled using this list may be related more specifically to the teen demographic.

NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATION

Applicants must have a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science, or be within one semester of completing the same to be considered for this position.

TYPE OF EXAMINATION

Examination will be a rating of education and experience through a structured interview.
