PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK

Work of this class involves the operation of a Grapple Truck, Chipper, Tandem Dump Truck, Frontend Loader, and related equipment primarily used in the streets division.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS   

Completion of the eighth grade and experience in the operation of automotive and construction equipment similar to those described herein; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT

Possession of the appropriate class commercial driver’s license and endorsements as issued by the State of Louisiana. Applicants must have at least a valid Commercial Driver’s License or CDL permit to apply and test, but must obtain a Louisiana class A CDL with air brake and combination endorsements, prior to hire.  Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle. 

TYPE OF EXAMINATION: 

Performance test will be operating a Grapple Truck, Chipper, Front-end Loader and Tandem Dump Truck.
