PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK

Responsible for creation and maintenance of graphical and attribute data sets using GIS software.  Based on assessments of requests, the incumbent builds, customizes, and maintains web-applications using ArcGIS software to perform spatial analysis for special projects and digital data requests.  Configures inputs and outputs; monitors real-time data sets for accuracy and integrity.  Considerable knowledge of GIS software, including online development and data management tools. Considerable knowledge of automated mapping and spatial information processing methods and techniques.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in geography, computer science, planning or closely-related field and experience working in GIS environment.

TYPE OF EXAMINATION - Ratings of education and experience through a structured interview.
