NATURE AND PURPOSE

Provides technical support for the Drainage Department. Conducts profile/topographic surveys of locations experiencing inadequate drainage conditions or restrictions. Utilizes board drafting techniques to illustrate ditch profiles. Assists with the inspection and maintenance of complex drainage infrastructure as well as thorough inspection of blockages within improved and unimproved coulees.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Associate’s Degree or completion of a technical specialty program of eighteen months – three years duration in civil engineering technology (or closely related field) and significant prior working experience in the civil engineering field incorporating the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the specific position.

NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Valid driver’s license required to apply. Valid Louisiana Driver’s license required prior to appointment.

TYPE OF EXAMINATION

Examination will be a multiple-choice tests.
